The Firebird

 

The brief is to create two dance costumes from the ballet The Firebird, first performed by the ballet Russes in Paris at the turn of th twentieth century.

The costumes will be fully functioning dancewear and will be used for the purpose of a photoshoot as a means to expand my portfolio.

 

I will produce two costumes, one for The Firebird character and one for Prince Ivan. The inspiration for the costume designs has come from illustrations by author Grennady Spirin in his book The Firebird. This book is based on Russian fairytales of The Firebird, Prince Ivan and The Grey Wolf.
